  • Age, trim duration, and passive membrane properties are from recordings of pairs of synaptically connected pyramidal neurons. Normally distributed data are reported as mean ± SEM. Non-normal data are given as median (interquartile range). One-way ANOVA showed no difference in postsynaptic resting membrane potential (p = 0.43; F(2,60) = 0.86; n = 63), postsynaptic input resistance (p = 0.58; F(2,58) = 0.54; n = 61), postsynaptic membrane time constant (p = 0.31; F(2,57) = 1.19; n = 60), or input–output slope (p = 0.22; F(2, 95) = 1.53; n = 98). One-way ANOVA on ranks revealed no difference in age (p = 0.95; H = 0.10; df = 2; n = 61), trim duration (p = 0.95; H = 0.10; df = 2; n = 61), presynaptic resting membrane potential (p = 0.36; H = 2.04; df = 2; n = 63), or rheobase (p = 0.54; H = 1.24; df = 2; n = 93).
